Job summary

SSYAF in Napa, CA seeks a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist to support the TBS program, developing family plans and coordinating with the care team. You will document progress, attend regular meetings, and manage time while delivering behavior interventions and resources to families.

Responsibilities

• Writes clear, accurate, and timely progress notes
• Participates in development of individualized family plans with TBS team
• Attends weekly staff meetings, consultations, and case management meetings
• Manages own time effectively
• Maintains positive relationships with agency and community programs
• Utilizes behavioral interventions and strategies
• Forms constructive relationships with children and their families
• Identifies strengths and resources in families
• Observes and evaluates behavior and completes Functional Behavioral Analysis
• Implements behavior-change programming based on FBA
• Records behavioral data for target behavior tracking
• Makes recommendations to modify goals based on data
• Suggests phases of treatment including termination of TBS services
• Maintains accurate and timely records
• Follows agency policies, procedures, health and safety rules
• Seeks clinical information and feedback from supervisor
• Maintains ability to work flexible hours
• Performs duties consistent with agency values and ethics
• Models and communicates mission and values
• Collaborates with all agency programs
• Maintains calendar and shares details with coworkers
• Participates in ongoing training

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Master's degree in a related field AND at least 2 years of approved experience* OR
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND at least 4 years of approved experience*OR
• Associate's degree AND a minimum of 6 years of approved experience*
• Spanish Speaking Preferred

*Approved experience is experience that qualifies the applicant for Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) status in the County Children’s Mental Health System of Care. Graduate education may be substituted for the experience on a year for year basis

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Position Specific

• Writes clear, accurate, and timely progress notes consistent with each contact/visit
• Participates in the development of individualized family plans with other members of the TBS team
• Attends weekly staff meetings, consultation, and case management meetings as scheduled
• Accountable for individual time management
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with agency and community programs
• Utilizes resources to utilize behavior interventions and strategies
• Forms positive, constructive relationships with children and their families
• Identifies strengths, skills, and positive qualities in children and families
• Identifies temporary and sustainable resources and services within family and community environments
• Observes and evaluates behavior, then completes a Functional Behavioral Analysis
• Utilizes the Functional Behavioral Analysis to implement change programming
• Records behavioral data to ensure accurate tracking of target behavior change
• Makes recommendations to modify goals as indicated by behavioral data
• Makes recommendations for all phases of treatment, including termination of TBS services
• Maintains accurate and timely records
• Follows all agency policies and procedures
• Follows all agency, State and Federal health and safety rules and regulations
• Seeks out clinical information and advice as needed, accepts constructive feedback and reasonable recommendations from supervisor
• Maintains ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the families

Compensation

This position may be filled at any level listed in this posting. Level determination is based on the role’s minimum qualifications and the candidate’s directly relevant experience and scope of responsibility.
The posted salary bands represent the full pay range for each role and reflect opportunities for compensation growth over time. The typical hiring ranges reflect where we reasonably expect to make offers to new hires based on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Level I

• Typical hiring range: $30.80 – $36.30 per hour
• Full salary band: $30.80 – $44.00 per hour

Level II

• Typical hiring range: $77,792 – $90,200 per year
• Full salary band: $77,792 – $99,000 per year
