Job summary

Anderson Center for Autism is seeking a dedicated Behavior Analyst to join the Adult Program in New York. The role focuses on clinical supervision, data-driven planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to enhance independence and quality of life for adults with autism.

You will develop and implement behavior support plans, mentor staff, and contribute to LifePlan and team meetings while ensuring rigorous documentation and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in ABA or related field.
• BCBA designation (or eligibility within 3 months).
• Experience supporting adults with autism in community or residential settings.
• Strong ability to communicate, train, and engage others.
• Valid driver’s license for travel between program sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and feedback to BCBA Trainees, Behavior Specialists, and RBTs.
• Serve as a clinical expert to ensure evidence‑based behavioral strategies for skill acquisition and quality of life.
• Develop behavior support and skills-based plans using data, observations, and feedback.
• Support implementation of plans through modeling, observation, and feedback to direct staff; document training efforts.
• Maintain data‑collection systems and communicate results to guide program adjustments.
• Participate in treatment team, LifePlan, and other meetings, offering input aligned with behavior support goals.
• Assist in crisis prevention/intervention using least-restrictive strategies and crisis planning.
• Maintain communication with staff, families, and peers to ensure shared understanding of supports.
• Complete required documentation and stay current with best practices in autism and behavior support.
• Mentor and advise others on ethical, evidence‑based practices.

What You Will Do as Behavior Analyst in Anderson’s Adult Program

• You will provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and competency-based feedback to BCBA Trainees, Behavior Specialists, and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
• You will be a hands‑on, go‑to clinical expert who helps ensure that individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities can benefit from the evidence‑based behavioral strategies that will lead to skill acquisition and a better quality of life.
• You will help develop frameworks for behavior support that will lead to consistent, predictable experiences for the adults we serve - and a chance for everyone on your team to feel more self‑assured in their own roles.
• You will help solve problems that arise, and you will coach your colleagues as needed, to ensure that everyone can confidently and effectively work toward achieving the same goals.
• You will assist with annual and ongoing behavioral and skills assessments using evidence‑based methods to gather reliable data.
• You will develop behavior support and skills‑based plans by contributing data, observations, and feedback from program settings.
• You will have the opportunity to support the implementation of plans through modeling, observation, and the sharing of feedback to direct support staff; you will also document your training efforts as required.
• You will maintain accurate data‑collection systems, using chart or graph data - and communicate the results with team members in ways that will help guide any needed program adjustments.
• You will provide hands‑on, program‑level behavioral support by observing environments, identifying needs, and communicating recommendations to supervisors and interdisciplinary team members.
• You will participate in the treatment team, LifePlan, BTR, and other relevant meetings, offering meaningful input and guidance aligned with behavior support goals.
• You will assist in crisis prevention and intervention using proactive, least‑restrictive strategies, and you will be available to support crisis response if and when needed.
• You will maintain strong communication with residential and day program staff, families, and department peers to ensure that everyone has a shared understanding of the supports which can yield the best results.
• You will complete required documentation, reports, and summaries in accordance with agency standards and timelines.
• You will continue to learn, participating in agency training initiatives and stay current with best practices related to autism and behavior support.
• You will get to actively participate in treatment team and LifePlan meetings, and collaborate with residential, day program, and clinical colleagues to ensure consistent use of behavioral supports.
• You will design and implement proactive, least‑restrictive crisis prevention strategies, and participate in crisis intervention planning and support.

The Qualifications We Seek:

• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) designation (or eligibility within 3 months).
• Experience supporting adults with autism/intellectual and developmental disabilities in community or residential settings preferred.
• Strong ability to confidently communicate, connect, train, and engage others.
• Extensive background analyzing data, writing clear reports, and overseeing evidence‑based interventions.
• A valid driver’s license, as there is some required travel between program sites.

In addition, we expect that you:

• Obtain and subsequently maintain qualifications in all health, safety and crisis intervention procedures of the agency, such as First Aid, CPR, SCIP‑R and medication administration certification.
• Complete agency training.
• Fulfill all mandated reporting requirements, ensure compliance with agency policies, and adhere to organizational protocols.

Pay Range: $74,080.00 - $86,880.00 Annual Salary; based on experience and certifications
