Job summary

Aperion Care Wilmington is seeking a Behavioral Aide who MUST BE A CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE! The role supports the Social Services Department, helping meet residents' medically related emotional and social needs in accordance with facility policies.

Responsibilities include greeting new residents, monitoring safety, conducting rounds, assisting with outings, staying current on crisis procedures, and encouraging residents toward their personal goals.

Qualifications

• Must possess, at minimum, a high school diploma.
• Must be a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).

• Make regular rounds during scheduled shifts to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
• Assist residents going to workshops and special community outings with arrival and departure ensuring proper hygiene, medications, and clothing.
• Stay current on facility policies and procedures on behavioral emergencies and be trained in crisis management and diffusing a potentially volatile situation, especially concerning aggressive/agitated behavior.
• Maintain knowledge of current goals/objectives that each resident is working on and encouraging the resident to do so.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

The Behavioral Aide assists in the implementation of programs in the Social Services Department. This can include assuring that the medically related emotional and social needs of the resident are met/maintained on an individual basis, to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of all manner, in accordance with the facility's established policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and the directions of your supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• CNA Certification




• Supporting the facility's philosophy of care and striving to achieve its goals and objectives.




• Greeting new residents to the facility and orienting them to the building and staff.
