Job Summary

Provides direct and indirect counseling services to patients and their families using individual, group, and family therapy. Provides bio-psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment planning, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team. Remains open to clinical and peer supervision processes.

Accountabilities
  1. Provides direct and indirect clinical/therapy services to patients and families covering a broad range of standard practice modalities and theories, biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic determinations, individual, group, and family therapy, and aftercare services.
  2. Participates in the planning, development, and implementation of the therapeutic program, including strategies for quality improvement, patient satisfaction, regulatory adherence, and associated policies, processes, and chart audits.
  3. Develops an individualized treatment plan including measurable treatment goals related to the patient's presenting problems. Participates as an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  4. Performs case management responsibilities involved with patient care, including utilization review, discharge planning, family involvement/education, and timely documentation.
  5. Serves as team lead and operates as a resource to staff. Supervises graduate students as a field instructor/site supervisor.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This is a non-management role that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related human services field.
  • At least 3 years of experience providing direct counseling care in a behavioral care setting (hospital or community agency preferred).
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

Currently licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners or equivalent licensing board.

In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements

Team members employed prior to July 1, 2020, are grandfathered under previous educational and experience requirements. Certification eligibility is required, with a one-year period to obtain certification.
