Job summary

Orchard Farm School District is seeking team members for the 2026-2027 After Care program at Discovery Zone. The position focuses on planning developmentally appropriate activities that advance social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development, and on maintaining a safe, orderly environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience with school-age children, high energy, and strong oral and written communication skills. Hours are MTWRF 3:00-6:00; pay is $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years working with school-age children.
• High energy and strong oral and written communication.
• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Hours: MTWRF 3:00-6:00.

Responsibilities

• Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that advance all areas of children's development and learning, including social, emotional, intellectual, and physical competencies.
• Maintaining an orderly physical environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of students.
• Working with individuals and groups of students to support academics and behavior management.
• Learning new skills, having flexibility, and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and staff members.
• Establishing rapport with families regarding their child's progress.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Before and After Care Lead Facilitator.
• Complying with the State of Missouri licensing regulations to safeguard the health and safety of children in the program.
• Participating in professional development related to the position.
• Maintain accurate student attendance.
• Supervision to ensure visual and auditory awareness of children at all times to ensure their safety.
