Job summary

Madison is seeking a Before and After School Program Counselor to assist the Site Supervisor in planning and running activities for elementary students. You will supervise participants indoors and outdoors, manage attendance, help with snacks and safety checks, and coordinate weekly events and special trips.

This role requires a high school diploma, being at least 18, and current first-aid and CPR certifications, with a focus on providing a safe, engaging program for children.

Before and After School Program Counselor

BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

HOURS:

• Before School: 7:00 a.m.-Start of School


• Schools: Jeffrey and Ryerson

DUTIES:Assist Site Supervisor in the following areas:

• Scheduling all events to take place both on a weekly basis and special trips.


• Supervising all participants at program, either indoors or outdoors, depending upon your assignment.


• Assist in taking daily attendance.


• Handling disciplinary action with the Supervisor.


• Administer first-aid where required.


• Help Supervisor to check area for safety and cleanliness.


• Help make sure building is kept clean and supplies are put away.


• Carry out any reasonable request from the Supervisor.


• Run a special event, at least once a week, for the children.


• Help with snacks daily and with ordering.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist Site Supervisor in designing and organizing all activities for Before/After School site.


• Assist Site Supervisor with the ordering of supplies.


• Observe work done by teenage counselors.


• Interact daily with participants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma.


• Eighteen (18) years of age minimum.


• Current first-aid certification.


• Possess current CPR certification.
