Job summary

Qualifications

Must be a high school graduate and ready to complete a NJ background check.
Certified in Community First Aid/CPR is required.
Reliable, responsible adult able to supervise school-age children.
Experience with elementary-age children and understanding of child development is needed.
Strong group leadership and ability to engage kids in activities.
Ability to run indoor and outdoor games and arts/crafts projects.
Good communication with parents, staff and students and school personnel.

Responsibilities

Arrive at site 15 minutes before program start and stay until children are accounted for.
Take accurate attendance and maintain child/family files.
Ensure smooth operation of the program at the site.
Monitor children’s movement and safety at all times.
Provide basic first aid and call for emergency help if needed.
Establish and enforce discipline guidelines fairly.
Plan and direct daily activities for diverse age groups.
Secure materials and supervise snacks as needed.
Oversee space, equipment and supplies maintenance.
Supervise and direct assistants; prepare time sheets and evaluations as requested.
Maintain good relations with school staff and notify District Coordinator of issues.
Carry out additional duties as assigned.
