Job summary

Independence Academy in Dover, FL is seeking a part-time Before/After Care Counselor to support daily activities, supervise students, and reinforce the academy's curriculum in a safe, engaging environment.

You will take attendance, follow the schedule, prepare activities, assist with snacks, and help maintain order and positive behavior. Strong English communication and basic computer skills are required; HS diploma or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years related experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Organized, energetic, innovative and professional.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct assigned classes as directed by Aftercare Director.
• Take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Follow the schedule and curriculum to meet students' needs and abilities.
• Create engaging activities and assist with snacks and cleanup.
• Promote positive classroom behavior and safety at all times.
• Support administration in enforcing policies and rules for student life and conduct.
• Attend staff meetings and required training programs.
• Ensure students are dismissed with proper authorization and ID checks.
