Position Details

Job Title: Before and After School Care Aide and Library Coordinator

Department/Campus: Campus

Reports To: Dean of Academics

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Pay Grade: PG-1040

Job Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Normal School hours

Job Goal

Under direct supervision, performs instructional duties or may deliver direct services to students or parents. Serves in a position for which a teacher or another professional has ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services. Assists with test administration. May provide specialized assistance for students with special needs.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 48 college hours.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Preferred: Texas Educational Aide Certification or ability to acquire it.
Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with student academic goals, working with small groups or individual students.
  • Help enforce classroom management and behavioral plans to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Supervise students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, and special events.
  • Assist with preparing paperwork for ARD/IEP processes; collect and enter data for special education reports.
  • Support planning, preparation, and implementation of differentiated instruction for students and groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication in written and oral forms with all management levels.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Organize special programs for the campus.
  • Proficient with computer software, databases, spreadsheets, word processing, calculators, copiers, and telephones.
  • Analyze data effectively.
  • Use effective interview techniques, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Light lifting may be required.
  • Occasional night and weekend activities.
  • Classroom setting requiring intermittent speaking, standing, walking, and writing.
  • Moderate travel may be necessary.
