Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a part-time afterschool coordinator to supervise children in the before and after school program and during school breaks. This 20-hour per week position runs Monday through Friday with afternoon hours and requires a positive, safety-focused approach.

The role includes maintaining licensed program standards, coordinating activity setups, and communicating with families. A fingerprint clearance card and CPR/First Aid certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Background clearance required.
  • Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Enjoys working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Support QCUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
  • Monitor and assist children to ensure safety in before/after care settings (split shift) and during intercession/summer camps.
  • Maintain an environment compliant with child care licensing requirements.
  • Work well with peers and maintain student confidentiality.
  • Set up rooms for activities and clean up after activities.
  • Be prepared before children arrive and learn the assigned plans.
  • Operate and care for equipment in the program.
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings as directed.
  • Interact positively with parents/guardians.
  • Perform other duties to support district priorities.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience as a teacher/caregiver aide for 12 months; OR volunteer in a child care facility for 12 months or enrollment in a vocational training program.
  • Must pass a background clearance.
  • Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Enjoys working with children.
Term of Employment

180 Days; 9 Months

Performance Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Support QCUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
  • Monitors and assists children to ensure children's safety at all times in the QCUSD before and after care setting (6:30 a.m. 6 p.m. split shift), and/or intercession camps and/or summer camps.
  • Maintains an environment in accordance with Department of Health Services childcare licensing requirements.
  • Team player with the ability to work well with peers.
  • Able to work with children from a variety of ages, while maintaining student confidentiality.
  • Sets up rooms for activities and cleans up after activities.
  • Learns the assigned plans and is prepared before children arrive.
  • Operate and care for equipment in the program.
  • Attends required staff meetings and training as directed and required by licensing and district.
  • Interacts positively with parents and/or guardians.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
