Job summary

Lowes Foods in Lexington, SC is seeking a friendly Beer Den/Wine Clerk to educate guests on beer and wine, assist with product selection, and maintain a welcoming wine and beer area.

The role involves tastings, compliance with ALE laws, and collaboration with store management and vendors. You will assist with displays, inventory, and guest engagement while upholding safety and tag-line standards.

Qualifications

• Working understanding of beer and wine.
• Familiarity with ALE laws governing sales and purchases of beer and wine.
• Sales minded with effective communication and guest service skills.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Self-motivated and trustworthy; able to follow guidelines.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Ability to communicate with Store Manager, DSD Receiver and vendors.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 30lbs consistently and 50lbs occasionally.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Educate guests on beer and wine attributes and guidance for needs.
• Ensure marketing materials and signage are displayed and maintained.
• Maintain sanitation and appearance of Beer Den/Wine area.
• Work with managers and suppliers on pricing and product selection.
• Train other Beer Den/Wine clerks and provide information to hosts in Beer Den/Wine.
• Conduct tastings and in-store demos or promotions.
• Follow state laws governing sampling, sale and purchasing of beer and wine.
• Handle growler filling, labeling and sealing.
• Maintain inventory of growlers, glassware and supplies.
• Announce specials and sale information over PA system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
