Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC in Lyman, SC seeks a Beer Den/Wine Clerk to educate guests on beer and wine, assist with product needs, and maintain displays. You will ensure signage, pricing and promotions are accurate and visible throughout the Beer Den/Sunmill Wines.

Responsibilities include conducting tastings, following ALE laws, training fellow clerks, managing growler inventory, and coordinating with vendors to keep selections up to date. A friendly, team-oriented, 21+ candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of beer and wine understanding.
• Familiar with ALE laws governing sale and purchase.
• Sales minded with effective guest service and selling skills.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Self-motivated, trustworthy and guideline adherent.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to read and understand information/direction.
• Ability to communicate with Store Manager, DSD Receiver and vendors.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Educate guests on beer and wine and guide for needs/preferences.
• Ensure marketing materials, signage and prices are displayed and maintained.
• Maintain the Beer Den/Sunmill Wines sanitation and appearance.
• Collaborate with category managers and suppliers on pricing and selection.
• Train other Beer Den/Wine clerks and ensure information is available for hosts.
• Conduct tastings and in-store demos or promotions as needed.
• Follow state laws governing sampling, sale, and purchasing of beer and wine.
• Wash and prepare growlers per established practices.
• Fill growlers upon guest request with proper labeling.
• Maintain inventory of growlers, glass, lids and supplies.
• Announce specials and sale information on the PA system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
