Recreation Assistant, Fermented Malt Beverage Concessions
Neighborhood Beer Gardens and Oktoberfest, 18 years +

Hourly Rate: $17 per hour

Waukesha Neighborhood Beer Garden operation, August 21 - 23, 2025 and September 4-6, 2025
Waukesha Oktoberfest, September 19 and 20, 2025

Shifts (approximately):

  • Some Wednesday set up times and Monday tear down hours available
  • Neighborhood Beer Gardens: Thursday & Friday, 4 to 10 pm; Saturday 2:00 to 10 pm
  • Oktoberfest: Friday, 4 pm to 11:00 pm; Saturday, 11 am to 11:00 pm
  • Mandatory paid training, TBD
Primary Functions

Responsible for customer service including proper money handling procedures, use of computer programs, selling and serving fermented malt beverages, and providing excellent customer service.

  1. Sells beverage concessions and operates cash register, ensuring the cash drawer is never left open and the area is not left unattended except in emergencies.
  2. Inspects area prior to use, counts drawer before shift, and balances drawer at the end of the day.
  3. Prepares concession products for sale.
  4. Maintains safe food handling practices and sanitary conditions in the stand.
  5. Performs maintenance and general housekeeping of the concession stand according to Health Department Standards.
  6. At shift closing, performs accounting duties including daily deposits and preparing deposit bags for the Site Supervisor.
  7. Provides appropriate emergency care to patrons as trained, referring to higher-certified staff if needed.
  8. Practices and enforces proper procedures for selling and serving alcohol, including wrist-banding of age-appropriate patrons.
  9. Enforces and explains all facility rules and regulations.
  10. Attends all in-service training and adheres to scheduling.
  11. Maintains cleanliness of the beer garden and concession areas throughout the shift.
  12. Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Position Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old or older.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain Selling & Serving Alcohol Certification upon hiring, with proof of current certification.
  • Knowledge of concession stand operations, cash handling, and safe food handling procedures.
  • Must pass Background and Drug Screen.
