Job summary

Wyoming Department of Corrections seeks a Beef Program Supervisor for the Wyoming Honor Farm, responsible for herd production, breeding, calving, feeding, and health. The role includes supervising an offender work crew, teaching animal-handling and agricultural practices, and ensuring humane care within a minimum-custody facility near Riverton.

This position reports to the Agricultural Program Manager and requires a Bachelor's Degree with related agriculture experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 0-1 year of progressive work experience in agriculture, or 3-4 years with substitution.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction on agricultural management topics.
• Supervise and train inmate workers in daily livestock and agricultural duties.
• Develop training materials and demonstrate techniques for beef program.
• Determine equipment needs and manage program supplies and costs.
• Monitor safety, security, and humane care of livestock.
• Prepare staff reports and participate in team meetings on inmate management issues.
• Order and maintain program equipment and track inmate payroll within budget.
• Assist security to ensure inmate accountability during emergencies.
