Job summary

Medical Center Health System is seeking a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and bedside testing, ensuring accurate patient identification and proper specimen labeling at the bedside. You will communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and hospital staff, and work in a CAP-certified laboratory environment with strict safety protocols.

Requirements include a phlebotomy training course or one year of experience; High School diploma; ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • PBT (ASCP) or CPT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training course OR on the job training with at least one year of phlebotomy experience in a CAP certified hospital laboratory or clinical lab required.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Clinical Laboratory procedures.
  • Requires ability to lift and move boxes of supplies weighing up to 30 pounds; extended standing, walking, and use of stairways; exposure to bio-hazardous materials and chemicals.

  • Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and bedside testing.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and proper labeling of specimens at the bedside.
  • Communicate with patients, doctors, and other hospital staff effectively.
