Bedding Internship - NYC Spring 2017 Internship Opportunity with Ellery Homestyles

Ellery Homestyles, a leading home textile supplier based in New York, NY, is seeking interns for 2016-2017. Our company offers opportunities in design, product development, marketing, and sales with a passionate and energetic staff of talented professionals. We work in conjunction with major retailers such as Target, Wal Mart, and Bed, Bath & Beyond to design, source, and produce home textiles products in the areas of bedding collections, shower curtains, window curtains, throw blankets, and novelty items.

Ellery Homestyles Design and Product Development opened their internship program with a single student in the summer of 2007. Since then the program has grown significantly and 46 students from six varying universities have benefited. Approximately 35% of the current Design and Product Development staff have completed internships with the company before being hired full‑time, making the student‑to‑employee connection one of the company’s strongest mentoring and growth paths.

Interns are assigned to a small group of staff and provided tasks based on skills and topics of interest. Students working with Ellery Homestyles commonly take part in staff meetings, help to create customer presentations and boards, maintain sample organization, learn and work in internal computer systems, and communicate directly with overseas offices while working with color, fabrics, and styling. Interns also assist the design team in styling and executing trend galleries for buyers during market week and are expected to attend trade shows, seminars, competitive, and trend shopping trips. The company seeks merchandising and design majors and offers the internship for class credit.

We are looking for ambitious, hardworking students with opinions and ideas to contribute to the team at Ellery Homestyles. Hours are flexible to accommodate class and work schedules as needed.
