At RWJBarnabas Health, effective patient flow helps ensure patients receive the right care in the right setting at the right time. As a Bed Board Associate, you'll play an important role in coordinating patient placement and managing hospital bed availability. Working closely with nursing units, physicians, the Transfer Center, and other hospital teams, you'll help facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting a positive experience for patients, families, and colleagues.
In this role, you'll be:
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and previous clerical experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnoses, along with computer proficiency, is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills and be able to work collaboratively with multiple departments in a changing healthcare environment. The ability to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, physicians, physician offices, nursing staff, and fellow team members is essential.
The schedule for this role will be 2 days a week from 11pm to 7:30am and will require rotating weekends.
