Job summary

Plus One, an Optum company, seeks an energetic Exercise Specialist to support healthy lifestyle habits at its Beaverton fitness center. You will conduct consultations, develop progressive fitness plans and guide safe use of equipment while delivering exceptional service.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science or an equivalent NCCA credential, CPR/AED and First Aid, and strong MS Office skills. A client-focused approach and ability to network with members are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or related field or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Industry knowledge in exercise testing and prescription with ability to use fitness tools and equipment.
• Ability to network, engage and interact with clients and members.
• Competence with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations including movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting to tailor fitness programming.
• Develop progressive fitness programming to support and motivate participants and ensure a positive experience.
• Instruct participants on safe use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength equipment.
• Educate participants on health and fitness information and available wellness services.
• Complete internal development courses through a learning management platform.
• Maintain positive customer and client experience by providing high-quality service.
