Responsibilities:
Processing Transactions:
Operate the cash register and handle cash, credit, debit, and gift card transactions accurately.
Customer Service:

Handling Payments:
Ensure that all forms of payment are processed properly and securely.
Ensure correct amounts of change are given back to customers.
Maintaining Cash Drawer:
Regularly count the cash drawer to ensure accuracy.
Report any discrepancies or issues with cash handling to a supervisor.
Bagging Purchases:
Properly bag and package items for customers, ensuring fragile items are handled with care.
Make sure to follow store policies regarding item returns or exchanges.
Monitoring Stock and Inventory:
Check stock levels and alert supervisors if inventory is low or needs replenishment.
Occasionally assist with restocking shelves or organizing merchandise near the cash register.
Keeping the Checkout Area Organized:
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to ensure smooth operations.
Make sure all necessary supplies (like bags, receipt paper, and change) are available.
Upselling and Promotions:
Suggest add-on items or promotions to customers in a polite and non-intrusive manner.
Provide customers with information on current sales, discounts, or loyalty programs.
Following Store Policies and Procedures:
Adhere to all company policies related to cash handling, customer service, and safety.
Ensure all transactions comply with store regulations and security measures.
