Job Objectives
Maximize sales and brand awareness by providing exceptional customer care in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. Offer impartial, personalized advice and expertise regardless of brand and budget. Demonstrate a passion for beauty and wellness, providing inspirational knowledge and solutions for customers' needs, including mini-makeovers and skincare consultations, with a focus on the total look. Model and deliver a distinctive customer experience and maintain overall beauty department standards.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
- Engage customers through greeting and assistance, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure positive experiences.
- Share customer care best practices, proactively offering help and informing customers of options.
- Identify customer needs and provide appropriate product and service recommendations, including warm transfers when necessary.
- Conduct product demonstrations and consultations using tools like Skin Hydrometer and tablets.
- Lead in-store events to promote brand awareness and loyalty.
- Build and foster customer relationships, providing authentic interactions.
- Utilize omni-channel solutions to enhance engagement.
- Locate products in other stores or online if unavailable locally.
Operations
- Achieve or surpass sales goals through customer assistance and exceptional care.
- Review beauty business performance regularly with store leadership.
- Focus on link-selling and up-selling, showcasing sale items and complementary products.
- Use testers and samples responsibly, maintaining hygiene standards.
- Ensure testers are stocked and the department remains clean and organized.
- Implement asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
- Process sales accurately on the register.
- Participate in meetings and training on programs, promotions, and new products.
- Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Comply with legal regulations regarding regulated products.
- Follow all company policies, fostering respectful coworker relationships.
- Complete assigned special projects.
Training & Personal Development
- Monitor and improve personal performance, stay updated on industry trends, and learn from others.
- Attend training sessions and complete e-learning modules as directed.
- Maintain a professional appearance per company standards.
- Share knowledge and assist in training new team members.
- Collaborate with store leadership to review goals and enhance product knowledge.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of retail sales experience with sales goals or experience selling beauty/cosmetic products and providing customer care.
- Ability to work independently, develop solutions, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Knowledge of beauty products and brands.
- Experience in team relationship-building.
- Basic PC/tablet skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Licensure in Cosmetology or Esthetician license as per state requirements.
- Experience in makeup application and providing makeovers.
- Experience with Prestige brands and beauty externships preferred.
