General Summary & Scope

The Beauty Advisor (BA) is responsible for providing an exceptional experience for all Ulta Beauty guests by engaging each guest to determine their needs, conducting cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The BA supports the leadership team through performance (sales and in-store events), guest service, and process adherence. This role requires a passion for beauty, excellent guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Contributing to meeting or exceeding store goals related to sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and shrink reduction.
• Providing exceptional guest service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, answering questions, informing about promotions, and recommending products.
• Handling customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and supporting online orders.
• Performing makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
• Booking appointments and supporting in-store events to enhance guest experience and meet sales targets.
• Staying informed about new and existing products and their benefits.
• Maintaining regular attendance.

People

• Supporting an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Collaborating with store team to grow the business.
• Participating in ongoing training and professional development.

Job Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience

• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent preferred.

Skills

• Passion for guest service and sales.
• Proficiency with basic technology (POS systems, Apple devices).
• Strong customer relationship skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Special Position Requirements

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

• Mobility throughout the store during shift.
• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Lifting up to 25 lbs. regularly.
• Object manipulation during shift.
