Job summary

Eastern Healthcare Group is seeking a compassionate Beautician to provide tailored beauty and grooming services for residents in our nursing home facilities. The role focuses on improving self-esteem, comfort, and overall well-being through professional care.

The ideal candidate holds a Virginia Cosmetology license and has prior experience with elderly or disabled individuals. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide hair care: haircuts, shampooing, styling, coloring, perming as appropriate for elderly clients.
• Offer grooming services such as manicures, basic skin care, and facial grooming if licensed.
• Create warm, safe, respectful environment during appointments.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area per facility guidelines.
• Manage appointment schedules with nursing and activity staff.
• Monitor and report changes in resident's scalp, skin, or health to nursing staff.
• Ensure proper sanitation of tools and equipment after each use.
• Maintain inventory of beauty supplies and notify when restocking is needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, including those with cognitive limitations.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Beautician to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide professional beauty and grooming services tailored to the unique needs of elderly individuals, helping to boost their self-esteem, comfort, and overall well-being

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hair care services including haircuts, shampooing, styling, coloring, and perming as appropriate for elderly clients.
• Offer additional grooming services such as manicures, basic skin care, and facial grooming (if licensed to do so).
• Create a warm, safe, and respectful environment for residents during appointments.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area in compliance with state and facility guidelines.
• Manage appointment schedules in coordination with nursing and activity staff.
• Monitor and report any changes in resident's scalp, skin, or general health to nursing staff.
• Ensure proper sanitation of tools and equipment after each use.
• Maintain inventory of beauty supplies and notify management when restocking is needed.
• Communicate effectively and patiently with residents, some of whom may have physical or cognitive limitations.

Qualifications

• Valid and current Cosmetology License in the state of Virginia.
• Previous experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a caring demeanor.
• Ability to lift light objects and assist residents safely as needed.
• Familiarity with infection control and sanitation standards.
• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required)

Environment

Work will be performed primarily indoors at one of our long-term healthcare facilities, throughout all areas, including in resident rooms, and on carpeted and/or tiled floors. Work will be performed there routinely around other co-workers, healthcare staff, residents, and guests. Due to the nature of facility's business, worker may be exposed to occasional slippery floors, object on floors, chemicals, sharp objects, hazardous materials and waste (including human), blood borne pathogens, and communicable diseases, as well as high-stress medical and/or life threatening situations.
