Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the School Principal, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting progress, addressing individual educational needs, creating a safe and flexible learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration.

Essential Functions
  1. Develop and administer curriculum aligned with district goals.
  2. Promote a safe, conducive classroom environment for instruction and student learning.
  3. Create lesson plans and instructional materials, utilizing available time effectively.
  4. Assess student learning continuously and adapt instructional methods accordingly, including for students with special needs.
  5. Instruct students on responsible citizenship and other mandated subjects.
  6. Engage in professional development through seminars, workshops, or research.
  7. Maintain accurate records of student activities, achievement, and attendance.
  8. Encourage parental involvement and communicate effectively with families.
  9. Manage student conduct to align with school standards, establishing a positive learning atmosphere.
  10. Collaborate with colleagues for curriculum evaluation and participate in faculty activities.
  11. Requisition and maintain instructional supplies and equipment.
  12. Supervise students during activities outside the classroom, including transportation.
  13. Administer standardized tests as per district protocols.
Additional Duties

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal or district administrators.

Qualifications
  • State Certification as an Elementary Teacher; certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Successful prior teaching experience is a plus.
