Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Terrell, TX is hiring for a position in the Nucor Building Systems Texas division. The role focuses on operating saws and beamline machinery, maintaining inventory, and ensuring quality throughout the cut process.

The ideal candidate has experience with reading drawings, using measurement tools, and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards on the shop floor. Industry certifications such as crane or forklift are preferred, with opportunities for cross-training and growth.

Qualifications

• Reading drawings, prints, and using tape measure/micrometer.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
• Adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shooting problems, changing out the saw blade, and drill bits as needed.
• Efficiently maintain and track inventory.
• Maintain housekeeping and help control scrap.
• Ensure the correct material is being cut.
• Remove cutting fluid and metal chips from cut parts.
• Operator-level maintenance of machinery.
• Communicate up and down the line to ensure quality and completeness.
• Operate the Hydmec saw and Beamline, making adjustments as needed.
• Be flexible to work any schedule required.

Basic Job Functions

• Trouble shooting problems, changing out the saw blade, and drill bits as needed.
• Efficiently maintain and track inventory.
• Maintaining housekeeping and helping to control scrap.
• Ensuring the correct material is being cut.
• Removing all cutting fluid and metal chips from cut parts.
• Operator-level maintenance of machinery.
• Communication up and down the line to ensure quality and completeness.
• Operating the Hydmec saw and Beamline machine while making constant adjustments if needed.
• Being flexible to work any schedule needed.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience with reading drawings, prints, and proficient with tape measure and micrometer.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Crane and forklift certifications
• Cross training experience on the Hydmec/Beamline
• Yard truck Certification
• Weld Certification
• Prior mechanical experience
