Job summary

Alleguard in Bastrop, TX recruits a Pre-Expander to operate pre-expander equipment and achieve the designated densities for production targets. This hands-on role involves batch and continuous expander tasks, material handling, quality checks, and strict adherence to safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to visually inspect parts during production to judge quality against standards.
• Ability to read and understand work-related instructions and procedures.
• Active listening to directions and safety briefings for correct operation.
• Monitor gauges and indicators to ensure machines run within spec.
• Choose appropriate training methods for learning new equipment or processes.
• Capable of using a pallet jack or similar handling equipment.
• Clear verbal communication with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Operate batch pre-expander and continuous expander equipment as assigned.
• Unload EPP materials from bulk trailers using the designated vacuum system.
• Maintain accurate material inventory on the boards and reports.
• Retrieve raw materials from inventory for expansion.
• Inspect expansion equipment prior to use for safe operation.
• Store expanded bead correctly in designated hopper locations.
• Record expansion data and report activity to Inventory Control.
• Report raw material usage on daily reports and enter data into system.
• Perform sampling tests on raw materials and share results with QA.
• Ensure expanded bead passes quality inspections before use.
• Follow environmental and safety policies; comply with procedures.
