Job summary

Crawl Street Tavern in Ocean City, MD is hiring a Cook for a busy summer season. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen serving beachgoers, families and locals with classic American tavern dishes.

Ideal candidates are 18–25 and eligible for Work & Travel USA (J-1); previous kitchen experience is a plus; strong teamwork and reliability are essential as you’ll stand long shifts in a hot kitchen, with evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be 18–25 and eligible for the Work & Travel USA (J-1) program.
• Conversational English sufficient to follow tickets and communicate with the team.
• Previous kitchen or cooking experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long shifts in a hot, busy kitchen environment.
• Reliable, punctual, hardworking and a genuine team player.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook classic American tavern dishes – burgers, wings, seafood baskets, sandwiches and more.
• Operate grill, fryer and prep stations during busy summer service.
• Set up station, prep ingredients and portion items before service.
• Follow recipes, plating standards and portion control to keep quality consistent.
• Maintain strict food safety, sanitation and hygiene standards.
• Clean equipment, work surfaces and help close down the kitchen.
• Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders and fellow kitchen staff.
