Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking skilled technicians to install and test BDA and DAS systems, ensuring reliable emergency coverage in buildings. You will work with FACP signaling and verify compliance with NFPA 72 and NEC standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, riser diagrams, and specs, plus lifting 50+ pounds and adapting to indoor/outdoor conditions. Competitive hourly pay and a results-driven bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; industry experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to read blueprints, riser diagrams, and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm theory and OSHA standards.
• Experience with major alarm manufacturers (Gamewell-FCI, Siemens, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, Honeywell, Firelite).

Responsibilities

• Test and install BDA and DAS to improve emergency radio coverage in buildings.
• Integrate BDAs with FACP and ensure proper signaling and compliance.
• Read and interpret construction documents and diagrams.
• Maintain project records and progress documentation.
• Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and inspectors.

What You’ll Be Doing

Here’s a glimpse of some of the responsibilities:

• Test and install Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) to enhance emergency responder radio coverage in buildings.
• Integrate BDA systems with Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP) and ensure proper signaling and compliance.
• Read and interpret construction documents, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Maintain up-to-date records and documentation related to project activities and progress.
• Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and inspectors.

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma is required. Industry experience preferred
• Individual must possess a valid Driver's license and have a clean driving record
• Ability to read blueprints, riser diagrams, and specifications
• Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA Requirements, and Industry Standards for Fire Alarm systems installation
• Experience with a variety of system manufacturing including Gamewell-FCI, Siemens, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, Honeywell, Firelite, etc.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions

Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role. Expected hourly range between $30 - $50 per hour.
