Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BDA and DAS Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 iBwave certification and have 4+ years of experience in designing Public Safety and Cellular DAS systems. This role is critical in delivering high-performance in-building wireless solutions that meet IFC and NFPA compliance standards for public safety, law enforcement, and commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer BDA (Bi-Directional Amplifier) and DAS (Distributed Antenna System) solutions for various environments.
  • Conduct site surveys and gather technical requirements for system design.
  • Utilize iBwave Design software to produce detailed documentation including link budgets, equipment layouts, and cable routing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, installers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Perform system optimization, commissioning, and troubleshooting to resolve performance issues.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and documentation for completed projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in wireless communications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Level 2 iBwave certification (mandatory).
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Cellular and Public Safety DAS design.
  • Proficiency in iBwave Design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles and wireless communication technologies.
  • Experience with P25 public safety and LMR systems (700 MHz, 800 MHz, UHF, VHF).
  • Familiarity with off-air, direct connect, and multi-carrier (neutral host) DAS designs.
  • Experience designing DAS for various venues (e.g., hospitals, prisons, stadiums, multi-story buildings).
  • Knowledge of DAS provisioning, commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with RF test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generators, TDR, OTDR, PIM).
  • Experience with fiber optic and coaxial cable installation and testing.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing engagements.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Network certifications and project management experience.
  • Experience with vendor platforms such as Solid, JMA, ADRF, Avari, Comba, Nextivity.
  • Ability to interface with direct sales teams and channel partners.
  • Friendly, personable demeanor with strong team collaboration skills.

  • Work Environment: Remote (home office setup).
  • Travel: Occasional, primarily for local site visits or meetings.
