Overview

The BD Manufacturing Development Program (MDP) is a three-year rotational program for new engineering graduates passionate about manufacturing. Participants rotate annually through different U.S. locations, gaining hands-on experience in areas like process engineering, lean manufacturing, project management, and quality. The program fosters professional growth through diverse assignments and cross-functional collaboration, with relocation support provided. Ideal candidates are adaptable, strong communicators with leadership potential and a desire to make an impact in medical technology.

Duties And Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Development Program (MDP) consists of three one-year rotations that provide a wide variety of work assignments in medical manufacturing and technology. MDP engineers gain cross-functional exposure to process engineering, manufacturing support, lean manufacturing, project management, quality and design. Each year, MDP engineers relocate to a new U.S. location, allowing for a diverse experience with new products, processes, and people. Relocation support is provided to those who qualify. Previous rotations include San Diego, CA; Canaan, CT; Columbus, NE; Franklin Lakes, NJ; Sandy, UT; Covington, GA; and Sumter, SC.

Required Qualifications
  • New engineering graduates with a B.S. or M.S. in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomechanical, Chemical or equivalent engineering degree
  • Graduating between December 2025 and June 2026
  • Strong desire for a career in manufacturing
  • Willing and able to relocate three times in three years
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction as to duration
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to cross-functional teams (Capstone Projects)
  • Prior internship or co-op in engineering
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments
  • Passion for philanthropic outreach/community relations
