Job summary

Hospice of the Bluegrass Inc is seeking a PACE Transportation Driver to safely transport participants to and from home, the PACE Center, and medical appointments, while engaging with participants and caregivers along the way.

This PRN role serves the Lexington and Frankfort regions and requires a valid Kentucky driver’s license, CPR certification, a clean driving record, and strong communication and organizational skills to provide compassionate, dependable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 with Kentucky driver's license and 2 years driving experience.
• At least 1 year of work transporting passengers.
• 1 year+ experience transporting individuals with mobility needs or training on hire.
• 1 year+ experience working with frail or elderly population or training on hire.
• CPR certification required.
• Proficient reading and writing comprehension.
• No positive drug or alcohol tests (pre-employment, random, post-accident, or suspicion).
• No more than 2 moving violations in 36 months; no DUI in last 5 years.
• Communicative, pleasant, courteous; interact well with PACE participants and staff.
• Able to keep accurate records; well organized.
• Entry level computer skills.
• Must be a licensed driver.

Responsibilities

• Transport PACE participants to and from home, PACE Center, medical appointments, etc.
• Interact with participants, caregivers, IDT, and program staff to ensure safe service.

Service Coverage

This role is responsible for providing services in both the Lexington (LEX) and Frankfort (FFT) regions

Position Summary

The PACE Transportation Driver is responsible for the direct transportation of PACE participants to and from their destinations, including home, the PACE Center, medical providers, etc. Position requires constant interaction with PACE participants, caregivers, community agencies, medical providers and PACE program staff and leadership.

Position Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a current Kentucky driver’s license, witha minimum of twoyears’driving experience.
• At least one yearofworkexperience in transportingpassengers.
• Minimum of oneyear’sexperience transporting individuals with special mobility needs or must receive appropriate training upon hire.
• Minimum of oneyear’sexperience working with a frail or elderly population or must receive appropriate training upon hire.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
• Proficient reading and writing comprehension skills.
• No positive drug or alcohol test including pre-employment, random, post-accident, or reasonable suspicion.
• No more than 2 moving traffic violations during the previous 36 months. No driving under the influence (DUI) [Drug or Alcohol] conviction during the previous 5 years in a commercial or personal motor vehicle.
• Communicative, pleasant, and courteous. Must be able to interact effectively with PACE participants, caregivers, IDT, and PACE program staff.
• Able to keep accurate records; well organized.
• Entry level computer skills needed.
• Must be a licensed driver.
