Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a licensed BCBA to conduct comprehensive in-person ABA assessments in Tysons, VA, and develop evidence-based treatment recommendations. You will administer and interpret standardized tools, interview caregivers and educators, observe clients in multiple settings, and synthesize data into clear reports for payer and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 3+ years of ABA experience, strong clinical writing, knowledge of insurance authorization, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

  • BCBA certification in good standing is required.
  • Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field is required.
  • Active licensure is required.
  • 3+ years of ABA experience, including behavioral assessments.
  • Strong clinical writing and documentation skills are required.
  • Knowledge of insurance authorization and medical necessity criteria is required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; travel is required for in-person assessments.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in person comprehensive initial and reassessment evaluations for individuals referred for ABA services.
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessment tools (adaptive behavior, skill-based assessments, FBAs, and more)
  • Conduct caregiver, educator, and stakeholder interviews to gather clinical context
  • Observe clients across home, school, clinic, and community environments
  • Synthesize data into clear, clinically sound treatment recommendations
  • Prepare detailed assessment reports aligned with payer, regulatory, and organizational requirements
  • Determine medical necessity and recommend appropriate service levels and goals
  • Collaborate with intake and authorization teams to support insurance approvals
  • Provide consultation to clinical leadership regarding assessment findings
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation

Requirements
