Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, FL, seeks a Baylor Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical/Surgical Unit. This weekend Baylor role offers a daytime schedule with a 7:00 AM–7:00 PM shift and Baylor differential pay, delivering high-quality care in a collaborative setting.

The RN assesses, plans, administers, and evaluates patient care while coordinating with physicians and the care team to ensure positive outcomes and patient experience, in a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred or obtained within required timeframe.
• One year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred; new grads encouraged.
• Excellent assessment, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy safely and accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and communicate findings promptly to providers.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document all patient care in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a patient advocate while providing compassionate, respectful, and professional care.
• Participate in department meetings, continuing education, and competency validation.
