Job summary

Simply Solar is seeking a skilled Solar Maintenance Technician to service residential and commercial PV systems across the Bay Area. You will diagnose performance issues, replace inverters, swap modules, and perform system removals as needed.

The role requires hands-on experience with SolarEdge and Enphase, strong troubleshooting, and clear communication with customers. A California driver’s license and physical ability for roof work are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hands-on experience servicing solar PV systems.
• Minimum 1 year working with solar inverters and electrical panels.
• Hands-on experience with SolarEdge and Enphase systems.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with customers.
• Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Physical ability to work on roofs, lift equipment, and handle field demands.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot PV and battery installations across residential and commercial sites.
• Perform inverter replacements, module swaps, and component repairs on SolarEdge, Enphase, Tesla, and other systems.
• Remove and reinstall solar arrays for roof work, ensuring proper reconnection and commissioning.
• Complete full system removals for moves or decommissioning.
• Document site conditions with photos and notes for follow-up work.
• Explain issues and options to homeowners in plain language and manage expectations.
• Follow safety protocols for roofs, ladders, and electrical systems; maintain clean work areas.
