Job summary

Kaleidoscope, an Infosys Company, is seeking a Battery Thermal Engineer to join the Battery Modeling team onsite in Cupertino, CA. You will develop thermal and multi-physics finite volume models for cells, packs, and BMS subsystems using AEDT/ICEPAK and state-of-the-art workflows.

Responsibilities include generating models translating power maps to thermal outputs, performing CFD simulations, creating reusable templates, and collaborating with CAE vendors to advance tooling and methods.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering with CFD/thermal modeling background.
• Expert AEDT/ICEPAK usage within AEDT.
• Proficiency in Python or scripting languages.

Job Summary: As a member of the Battery Modeling team, onsite in Cupertino, CA, the Battery Thermal Engineer, expect in ICEPAK AEDT will be responsible for thermal modeling across all products, developing state-of-the-art thermal and multi-physics finite volume (FE) models of cell, pack, and BMS sub-systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate models/capability to convert power maps into thermal outputs
• Perform advanced thermal/CFD simulations to evaluate boundary conditions at the cell, pack, and BMS sub-system levels, as well as system-wide
• Use best-in-class tools and solvers to generate simulation models and results
• Develop optimized workflows and reusable templates for recurring thermal simulations
• Develop and implement thermal modeling best practices
• Collaborate with CAE vendors to drive functionality improvements
• Explore new analysis types and solutions, including topological optimization
• Extract Reduced Order Models (ROM) from CFD simulations to accelerate exploratory studies

Minimum Qualifications:

• MS/PhD + 3 years of industry experience
• Mechanical engineering background with a strong foundation in CFD and thermal modeling
• [MUST HAVE] Expert-level skillset in Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) and ICEPAK within AEDT
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages
• Valid US work visa, with no export compliance restrictions

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS/PhD + 5 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with Cadence Allegro and electronics layout design
• Familiarity with Li-ion cells and battery packs
• Familiarity with NX, Comsol
• Experience in electronics cooling
