Job summary

Talnt is seeking an Application Engineer in Troy, OH to bridge between customers and internal engineering teams for lithium-ion battery system integration into industrial applications. You will support system testing, product validation, and documentation while collaborating with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

The role requires 3+ years in battery tech or related industrial products, strong CAD/engineering tools proficiency, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years supporting battery technology, energy storage systems, or related industrial products.
• Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery technology, BMS, and thermal management principles.
• Experience with engineering testing, product validation, troubleshooting and technical support.
• Proficiency with CAD software, engineering simulation tools, and laboratory testing equipment.
• Excellent communication, presentation and customer-facing skills.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams throughout the product integration process.
• Support the implementation and integration of lithium-ion battery systems into customer applications, including material handling equipment, construction equipment, and AGVs.
• Gather customer requirements and translate technical needs into engineering specifications.
• Provide hands-on support for system testing, product validation, troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Engineering teams to optimize product performance and reliability.
• Assist with battery system evaluations, application testing, and performance verification activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including guides, manuals, data sheets, and installation docs.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer training sessions.
• Participate in root cause investigations and failure analysis to identify and resolve issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Stay current on battery technology, industry standards, safety regulations, and emerging electrification technologies.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
