Job description

Mako Power is seeking a Battery Service Technician who will provide safe, competent, high-quality installation and maintenance services for Mako Power customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Travels to customer sites to install, replace, and perform repairs and maintenance on battery systems used in Telecom, Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) and Switch-Gear application.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA and DOT Hazmat.
  • Interacts with all levels of individuals, both inside and outside the company.
  • Is directly responsible for company assets, including a service vehicle, tools and test equipment.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Must complete all necessary compliance and job specific training.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Drug testing upon hiring and annually and may happen more often as some customers require testing to work at their facility.
  • Overnight stays and extended stays are sometimes required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use Digital Voltmeter.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Able and willing to travel to customer sites. After Hours and Weekend work is required on an as needed basis.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and frequently bend and twist.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a daily continuous basis.
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds occasionally.
Preferred
  • Previous customer service experience in field support.
  • A basic electrical understanding.
  • The use of electrical test equipment.
  • Electrical experience in troubleshooting or repairs.
Working Conditions
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the environment is moderate and occasionally may be loud.
  • This position is an entry level / laborer type position however anyone with advanced experience in this field is welcome to apply.
