Job summary

Tekberry is seeking a reliable Battery Maintenance Technician in Conyers, GA to support EV battery recycling operations. You will diagnose, disassemble, and rebuild 600–900 volt batteries, using hand tools and test equipment to ensure safety and quality.

This 6-month contract requires teamwork and adherence to PPE and CMMS data entry standards. Responsibilities include disassembly, re-energization, inspection of connections, fluids, and components, plus packaging for shipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with up to 2 years' related experience.
• Experience using hand and power tools and basic computers for data entry.

Tekberry is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Battery Maintenance Technician to support EV battery recycling operations with our client, a leader in the automotive and mobility services industry.

Seeking candidates that are trained technicians to diagnose, disassemble, and rebuild large 600-900 volt batteries safely, work as a team and be dependable. Perform a variety of processes, including disassembly, de-energizing, cleaning, reassembly, and re-energization of batteries and battery packaging. Technicians inspect and test electrical connections, components, and wiring charges. Additionally, they inspect batteries for defective parts, test fluid conditions, remove battery fluids, and disconnect electrical leads to ensure optimal battery performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn battery maintenance principles and practices
• Assist with disassembling batteries and packs using hand tools
• Use test equipment to assess battery performance and detect issues
• Replace faulty components and fusing parts to restore functionality
• Ensure proper mixing and containment of battery fluids
• Sort battery-related materials, Package and prepare battery components for shipping
• Perform basic diagnostics to identify battery failures
• Use electrical test equipment to verify battery functionality
• Support repair and refurbishment of vehicle batteries for reuse
• Follow company quality management procedures
• Adhere to safety protocols and wears required PPE
• Ensure battery work meets quality standards and contributes to overall operational excellence
• Ensure timely and accurate updates to the Alfred CMMS database with relevant maintenance and production data to support operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
• Completes additional tasks as assigned

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills

• High School Diploma/GED, and up to 2 years' experience in a related field
• Requires a strong knowledge and experience working with hand and power tools as well as basic computers skills needed to enter information into databases, and check and respond to emails.
• Ability to read written operating instructions
• Excellent skills in quality, accuracy and attention to Detail, safety focus, can collaborate to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Preferred Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills

• Degree or certification in related disciplines automotive or technical
• Experience in the EV Battery or automotive industry
