Kodak is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the Battery Coating Division in Rochester, NY. Join a team operating pilot and production RTR equipment at Eastman Business Park, contributing to lithium‑ion battery product support and process reliability.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain multi-discipline process gear, calibrate systems, and execute preventive maintenance while working safely in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

• Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training.
• Experience repairing, maintaining, installing, and improving chemical processing equipment.
• Ability to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings and PLC programs.
• Knowledge of hazardous environments and safety protocols (Lock Out/Tag Out).
• Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of roll-to-roll equipment is preferred.

Role Overview

Kodak is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Battery Coating Division located in Rochester, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of Kodak's transition into the rapidly expanding lithium-ion battery market. Come join us and be part of the transformation to clean energy!

This position will be part of a team that operates a pilot and production-scale RTR facility at the Eastman Business Park in Rochester, NY. This facility provides both experimental and production toll coating services to support the new products and technologies for the battery and energy industries. The ideal candidate will have prior experience maintaining roll-to-roll pilot and manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

• Provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC's), pumps and electrical components)
• Some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls
• Ability to achieve a high level of expertise of chemical process equipment for effective troubleshooting and equipment repair
• Execute preventive maintenance program
• Calibrate, alignment and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools
• Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment

Skills required

• Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience
• Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
• Demonstrate practical analytical troubleshooting skills
• Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings
• Able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Excellent safety record - places safety and environment as top priority in all work
• Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
• Understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
• Good communication skills - daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed
• Good team player - willing be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed
• HS diploma, 2-year schooling and/or 5 plus years of demonstrated experience
