Job summary

Kaygen, Inc. seeks an engineering professional with extensive battery cell experience to drive trials, confirm KPIs, and evaluate performance using analytical tools.

You will work across production engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and Quality to validate new materials and processes, including winding and electrolyte fill activities. The role requires a degree in engineering and 3+ years in a manufacturing setting, with travel up to 15% and occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field.
  • 3+ years in an equivalent engineering role in manufacturing.
  • Experience in production preparation, scheduling, and deliverables.
  • Experience in winding, cell assembly and electrolyte fill on automotive cells (2+ years, 5+ years preferred).
  • Familiarity with battery cell products, processes, and trial activities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% (domestic and international) and to work weekends/shutdowns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage trial activities and KPI confirmations.
  • Evaluate cell performance using analytical tools and quality functions.
  • Coordinate with production engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and Quality.
  • Interpret and apply product/process specifications, including new material introductions and validation.

Requirements:
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field
  • 3+ years of equivalent Engineering role experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing production preparation role and schedule/deliverable management including stages of project plan, process/equipment plan, specification & procurement, installation and trial.
  • Experience in winding, cell assembly & electrolyte fill on automotive cells (2+ years, 5+ years Preferred)
  • Experience in battery cell product, processes/equipment, and/or trial activity.
  • Experience in activity of Ryohin Joken identification, application, and/or confirmation.
  • Experience coordinating with varied functions in large corporate organization, including production engineering, manufacturing, research & development, and Quality, or similar, and reporting out to senior leadership level.
  • Experience in interpreting & applying product/process specification, drawing and data, etc. including new material introduction and validation and change point management and confirmation
  • Ability for weekend and shutdown work, overtime up to 25%, and travel (domestic and international) up to 15%
