Where will you work: Onsite at 76 Rawhide Rd., Loving, NM 88256

Schedule: 6am-3pm (9/80 schedule—every other Friday off)

BATTERY ATTENDANT (9)

This position is responsible for safe maintenance and repair of batteries assigned to the Battery Ramcars and Battery Scoops. This position is also responsible for the upkeep and housekeeping of the charging stations in the production areas.


What you’ll do:

  • Troubleshoot and repair of batteries.
  • Keeping accurate records.
  • Perform weekly pm’s, essential tasks related to oxy-acetylene cutting, Environmental Acid Spill cleanup procedures, hoist or boom truck operations and battery station relocations.

What you’ll need:

  • This position requires a candidate with both mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in an industrial environment is highly preferred, preferably underground mining operations. Experience in continuous mechanized mining operations is
    preferred.
  • Must be able to use the necessary equipment and tools to perform the job duties. The candidate must be able to performphysical tasks involving heavy lifting, frequent stooping, bending, walking, swinging a sledgehammer, barring down, etc.
  • Perform other essential duties related to production as required.
  • The candidate must be able to perform a variety of technical tasks, follow instruction, analyze, monitor, and learn newprocedures.
  • Must be able to read, write, and should have a good understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Must demonstrateskills in planning, scheduling, and exercising independent judgement/decision making.
  • Applicant must be able to distinguishcolors.
  • Applicant must be able interpret prints and schematics to troubleshoot a problem.
  • Must be familiar with the batterycharging system.
