Wharton-Smith, Inc., a respected General Contractor in the Southeast, is seeking a Field Engineer to support project teams in the Baton Rouge, LA area and on a current project in Jackson, MS.

The role coordinates with Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Project Engineers to aid in work plan development, scheduling, quality, safety, and compliance across field operations on this project.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or another relevant field.
• 0–4 years of construction-related experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen.
• Certifications as a Competent Person in Trenching, Scaffolding, Rigging, Confined Space, Fall Protection, OSHA 10‑Hour, First Aid & CPR, Silica, Risk Management.
• Knowledge of surveying fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and assist with facility start-up activities.
• Attend meetings (Sub, progress, and team).
• Maintain logs and files (field, equipment, delivery, concrete tracking, rental tracking).
• Identify need for RFIs and manage RFIs.
• Manage approved submittals to ensure QC and compliance.
• Maintain as-built drawings (Electronic and Hard Set).
• Material purchasing, expediting, and handling (field POs).
• Maintain material control system (all materials on site).
• Monitor and report productivity.
• Layout using survey equipment, batter boards, string lines.
