Responsibilities/Qualifications

As a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) at Pet Supplies Plus, you are passionate about people and their pets. Your responsibilities include:

• Encouraging pets to participate in grooming activities and celebrating successes
• Attending free, paid training through the renowned Paragon School of Pet Grooming, if interested in becoming a Groomer
• Getting familiar with grooming tools and equipment
• Learning to bathe and style dogs according to breed standards
• Receiving a free toolkit valued over $600 upon hire when enrolling in the Paragon School, if pursuing grooming

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing grooming services such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming
• Learning and demonstrating grooming skills through online training
• Ensuring the safety and wellness of pets
• Building relationships with pet owners and recommending products/services
• Maintaining a clean and inviting grooming environment
• Completing safety training certification
• Assisting team members during grooming downtime

Ideal candidates will have:

• Experience with pets in retail or other settings (not required)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods
• Ability to review online videos and tests
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must pass drug screening and validation tests, and be at least 18 years old
