Splish, splash! FIDO needs a bath. Are you up for wet wagging tails and flying suds? Interested in becoming a Groomer? Join our team and attend our free Paragon School of Pet Grooming!

Responsibilities & Qualifications

As a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets. Your responsibilities include:

1. Providing exceptional, neighborly service during your workday.
2. Encouraging pets to participate in grooming activities and celebrating their progress.
3. Attending our free, paid training through the renowned Paragon School of Pet Grooming, if you aim to become a groomer.
4. Getting comfortable with all grooming tools and equipment.
5. Learning to bathe and style dogs to breed standards.
6. Receiving a free toolkit worth over $600 upon hire, as a bonus for enrolling in the Paragon school, if pursuing a grooming career.

Additional key responsibilities include:

1. Delighting neighbors and pets with grooming services such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming.
2. Demonstrating all necessary skills to become a groomer through the online program.
3. Ensuring the wellness and safety of furry patrons.
4. Building long-term relationships with neighbors by understanding their needs and recommending suitable products and services.
5. Maintaining a clean and inviting grooming environment.
6. Completing Safety Training certification.
7. Assisting team members during grooming downtime.

Ideal Groom Tech candidates will have:

1. Experience working with pets in retail or other industries (not required).
2. A High School Diploma or GED.
3. The ability to lift and move merchandise, equipment, or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
4. Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
5. Capability to review videos and take online tests.
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
7. Must pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and a validated selection test; candidates must be at least 18 years old.
