Responsibilities & Qualifications

As a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) at Pet Supplies Plus, you will:

• Encourage pets to enjoy grooming activities and celebrate their progress.
• Attend our free, paid training through the renowned Paragon School of Pet Grooming, if aspiring to become a Groomer.
• Learn to use grooming tools and equipment effectively.
• Learn to bathe and style dogs to breed standards.
• Receive a free toolkit worth over $600 upon hire when enrolling in the Paragon school.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing grooming services such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming to pets and delighting their owners.
• Learning and demonstrating grooming skills via the online program.
• Ensuring the safety and wellness of pets.
• Building relationships with pet owners by understanding their needs and recommending products.
• Maintaining a clean and inviting grooming environment.
• Completing safety training certification.
• Assisting team members during grooming downtime.

Ideal Groom Tech candidates will have:

• Experience with pets in retail or similar industries (not required).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to review videos and complete online tests.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass drug screening (where applicable) and a selection test, and be at least 18 years old.
