Sherwin-Williams is seeking personnel for a manufacturing role in Illinois. The position involves pre-batching and blending raw materials to produce industrial or architectural colorant, with emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and productive operations.

Responsibilities include operating high-speed mixers, lab adjustments, and ensuring quality across raw materials and finished goods, while maintaining production records and collaborating cross-functionally.

Formación

• Must have at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility.
• Experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation.
• Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
• Experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods.
• Experience using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, vacuum-hoists, drum dollies, conveyors).
• Experience mixing or blending raw materials and making a product in an industrial batch process.

Responsabilidades

• Select, pull, measure, and stage raw materials for manufacturing.
• Follow batch slip instructions to incorporate raw materials in high-speed mixers to mix and blend batches.
• Make lab adjustments, incorporate approved samples, and maintain raw material samples from daily premixes.
• Operate paint-making control systems and manufacturing equipment such as high-speed dispersers, pumps, valves, battery chargers, drum handling equipment, and forklifts, etc., in a safe and efficient manner.
• Monitor raw materials and finished goods for quality.
• Comply with policies and standard operating procedures.
• Keep equipment logs, perform minor repairs, and report breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Maintain production records and reporting as required.
• Collaborate with other departments to complete production orders on time.
• Monitor and replenish inventory of parts and supplies.
• Provide technical support and training to other team members.
• Contribute ideas to improve or optimize manufacturing procedures.
• Keep tools, equipment, and the work environment clean and organized daily.

Additional Information:

Schedule: 3rd Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm to 6:30am
This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation of machinery
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience mixing or blending raw materials and making a product in an industrial batch process
