Job summary
Proper Beverage Company in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Batching Technician to join Production. You will ensure accurate and efficient mixing of ingredients to meet production requirements as part of a team.
Responsibilities include following batch processes, coordinating with the Batching Supervisor, monitoring equipment, and maintaining safety, GMP standards. You will document batch production and collaborate with QA/R&D to improve formulations and processes to drive efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience in batching, mixing, industrial cooking, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of batching equipment, systems, and processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, SQF).
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines.

- Coordinate with the Batching Supervisor to ensure timely availability of ingredients and materials for batching operations.
- Monitor batching equipment and systems, troubleshooting any issues and coordinating with maintenance staff for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols, sanitation standards, and GMP to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of batch production, ingredient usage, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with quality control and R&D teams to evaluate product quality and assist in the development of new formulations and recipes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize batching processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- All other duties as assigned

As Batching Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient mixing of ingredients to meet production requirements. You will be part of a team of batching technicians working to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity are maintained.
- Follow the batching process, including the accurate measurement and mixing of ingredients according to recipe specifications and production schedules.
- Coordinate with the Batching Supervisor to ensure timely availability of ingredients and materials for batching operations.
- Monitor batching equipment and systems, troubleshooting any issues and coordinating with maintenance staff for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols, sanitation standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of batching operations to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of batch production, ingredient usage, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with quality control and R&D teams to evaluate product quality and assist in the development of new formulations and recipes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize batching processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
