Job summary

Chem-Pak, Inc. in Martinsburg, WV seeks a Batching Supervisor to lead the batching department, ensuring accurate formulas, batch records, and safe manufacturing practices while coordinating with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Planning.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (associate or bachelor’s preferred), 5+ years in chemical manufacturing and 2+ years in supervision, plus experience with liquid blending or aerosol production, ERP software, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Two or more years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with liquid blending, batching, or aerosol manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, formulation control, and scheduling.
• Experience with batching procedures, MS Office and ERP software; strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities; OSHA regulations and SDS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Development: lead daily batching, coach and develop staff, ensure accountability and professionalism.
• Production & Operations: follow formulas and batch records, coordinate with departments, maintain schedules and safety.
• Quality & Compliance: ensure OSHA/EPA/GMP compliance, investigate deviations, document properly, drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Development Lead the daily activities of the batching department and assign work priorities Coach, mentor, and develop batching employees Help team members improve time management, efficiency, and technical skills Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching Foster a positive culture built on accountability, teamwork, and respect Lead by example through professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic
• Production & Operations Ensure formulas, batch records, and manufacturing instructions are followed accurately Coordinate daily activities with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities as needed Support smooth production flow by anticipating and resolving operational challenges Ensure batching equipment is operating safely and efficiently
• Quality & Compliance Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, GMP, and company requirements Investigate batch deviations and implement corrective actions Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping Promote a Right First Time mindset throughout the department Monitor inventory usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and workflow Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Encourage employee involvement in problem solving and process improvements Help create standardized, repeatable processes that support long-term success
