Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a production team member for a 12-hour shift (6:00pm–6:00am) to build ingredients for batching and support the batching team. You will help with breaks and work across the batch room as needed.

Responsibilities include following SOPs to transfer dairy products, operating process equipment, and coordinating with departments to meet the production run schedule. Safety and GMP compliance are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing; dairy preferred.
  • Strong math skills.
  • MS Excel and ERP systems proficiency; SAP a plus.
  • Lift truck certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer dairy products from blending to processing following SOPs.
  • Operate process equipment including heat exchangers, rigs, tanks, pumps and lines.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet production run schedules.
  • Accurately record charts and production records; audit at shift end.
  • Adhere to GMP, Food Safety and Allergens policies and safety rules.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area and perform sanitation tasks as required.

This is a 12-hour Shift 6:00pm-6:00am The main function of this position is to build the ingredients for batching. However, you are still part of the batching team and must assist in giving breaks and working in the batch room as needed.

Position Responsibilities
  • All duties consistent with following our established SOP's to ensure the proper transfer of dairy products from blending to processing, to identified filling system in accordance with the production run schedule.
  • Efficient operation of the process equipment to include the high temperature heat exchange systems equipment, rigs, tanks, pumps, product lines, valves, fittings, and components.
  • Effective communication and coordination with other departments to ensure product is processed and supplied in accordance with our production run schedule, product end of run, and product changeovers.
  • Follow all Chart Recording guidelines, ensure accuracy and completion of all required documentation, charts and records.
  • Audit records at the end of each shift.
  • Proficiency with computer based software and automated control systems.
  • Support internal and external compliance audits.
  • Process all product reclaim within defined guidelines.
  • Perform equipment CIP/SIP/COP/Sanitation and complete dept. clean-up and general housekeeping as required.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform all required department environmental controls.
  • Follow all established GMP/Food Safety/Allergen policies
  • Follow all employee Health and Safety policies.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions.
  • Follow the established notification protocol.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments.
  • Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
  • Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Follow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.
  • Safe operation of lift truck and material handling equipment.
  • Cross-train with other departments.
  • Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
  • Comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
  • Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
  • Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
  • Other duties as required by management.

Job requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Advanced training with a concentration in dairy science, a plus.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong PC skills, MS Excel, ERP systems, SAP a plus.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to achieve lift truck certification and safely operate lift trucks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work history.
  • Consistent attendance is a must.
