Job summary

Refresco Brand is seeking a Batching Blending Supervisor in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. This position is responsible for overseeing the batching processes, ensuring product quality and compliance with safety regulations.

Job description

Position Description

The Batching Blending Supervisor is responsible for the execution of processing and batching products ensuring proper usage of materials and the processing schedule.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 2pm - 10pm (hours may vary based on production needs)

Essential Job Functions
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance to all health and safety policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard‑toe and slip/oil‑resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees.
  • Have some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
  • Work with management to ensure products are staged and batched according to the production schedule.
  • Mix batches, combining ingredients properly according to the established mixing instructions and/or SAP.
  • Ensure compliance of pre‑weigh procedures.
  • Ensure movement and proper flow of cold‑storage ingredients.
  • Release approved batches to lines for production and assist with new batch start‑ups as needed.
  • May require unloading sugar and alcohol trucks with proper paperwork.
  • May require material and ingredient inventories as needed.
  • Maintain proper paperwork for all manufactured batches.
  • Analyze and adjust production processes to minimize material waste.
  • Communicate with management about any issues or corrections to be made relating to batches or production schedule.
  • Stop any production that may be questionable in terms of food safety and immediately alert a member of the management team.
  • Learn and assist with CIP/COP program.
  • Have basic knowledge of water treating and wastewater systems; may require water testing.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance as well as daily and weekly preventive maintenance.
  • Perform special cleaning duties as needed.
  • Responsible for proper training of employees.
Required Skills
  • Must be able to read and interpret measurements.
  • Background in processing batches.
  • Understand quality improvement, increase efficiencies, improve yields, and eliminate out‑of‑spec or damaged product.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and SAP preferred.
  • Organized, detail oriented, adaptable to change.
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Familiarity with ISO, Six Sigma, GMP, and other relevant standards and regulations.
  • Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
  • Must pass forklift certification program.
  • Able to read and understand the metric system.
  • Commit to continuous improvement practices to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and waste.
  • Capable of monitoring and adjusting processes to maintain consistency and quality of the product.
  • Clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Problem‑solving skills – ability to quickly identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Basic computer skills for operating production software and logging data.
  • Analytical ability to process data and parameters to optimize production.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED; undergraduate degree in Food Science or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a high‑speed manufacturing environment, preferably in the food/beverage industry with a blending/batching background.
  • Knowledge of food safety and security standards, and governmental regulatory relating to the food/beverage industry.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and nights may be required.
  • Work Environment: Operating in a fast‑paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can be very hot or relatively cold (laboratory is temperature controlled). The environment is structured and supervised.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel anticipated: Rarely.
Physical Requirements
  • Visual/Sensory: Requires attention to detail, at times with one or two senses at a time.
  • Mental Stress: Pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands.
