Job summary

Sabre Industries, Inc. in Louisiana is seeking a batch plant operator to plan and execute the productivity of the department. You will load materials, mix concrete batches, and coordinate with the yard team to ensure on-time deliveries.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of batch plant operation experience, reads blueprints, and follows safety procedures. This on-site role offers full-time hours and opportunities for career growth within our manufacturing division.

Qualifications

• ACI Certification a plus.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute the department's productivity.
• Order materials and batch concrete using Command Alkon.
• Load material and prepare concrete batches for production.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow procedures.
• Perform daily inspections of loaders and trucks.

Scope Of Responsibility
Scope of Responsibility: Responsible for the planning and execution of the productivity of the department. Ensure the overall efficacy of the department and assist plant manager with day to day operation.

Essential Duties

• Orders materials
• Figures concrete amounts
• Order concrete batches through Command Alkon
• Load material for concrete
• Communicate with Lead/Crew on concrete yardage
• Perform daily pre-inspections and on-going maintenance checks on loaders and trucks
• Pull and break concrete samples
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
• Perform duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules and standards
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
  

Position Requirements

• High school diploma, or equivalent
• Training in vocational schools or related on-the-job experience prefered
• Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in concrete construction and maintenance.
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment
• 3-5 years previous batch plant operation experience preferred
• Must be able to read and understand blue prints
• Skill in the use and care of hand and small power tools associated with the work.
• Must be able to work efficiently without supervision
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Concrete mix design
• ACI Certification a plus
  

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
• Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends
• Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
• Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noise
• Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
